During Assignment 5, I learned how to insert buttons and links into the slide. I liked that I had creative liberty to do whatever I wanted. I found it difficult to insert the links. I found myself relinking buttons for hours at a time. I think that a test would be good for older grades like middle school and high school to see what we could do better in the school. I am still unsure if I will go into the education career. However, these satisfaction surveys or clientele censuses would be extremely useful. It will help see your company's demographic as well as how to improve your company. Skills I would like to learn is how to use Excel. I have used it in the past, but it has been eight years since I used the program completely. I want to learn about Excel because it is widely used across multiple fields and would be helpful to learn. watching a video would be extremely useful for me because I can play the video while I am in the program so I can work along side. Because I am famil

EME 2040 has definitely been a positive experience for me. Creating lesson plans and researching teacher methods has made me reconsider what I would like to do with my career as well as assist me in receiving an education minor. I really like the class activities. They allow you to be creative while still being professional. That being said, I do feel like the assignments can be a lot to grasp, I am finding difficulty trying to gain knowledge about a certain platform to complete the assignment. I also find the creation of lesson plans difficult. I wish we had a template of what a lesson plan looks like so I can get a grasp as to what I need to include for my students. Open Educational Resources (OER) are resources available for teachers and students to use. They are usually covered under a license that allows free use of the resource. One of the blogs I found was an article describing how to teach students about climate change. They focused on the positive aspects of what assisting wit

While working on the Web Design Assignment, I learned how to create a website and personalize it. I also learned how to utilize Google Calendars as well as how to insert it into a website. I enjoyed being able to create a lesson plan that involved literature that is beneficial to students as well as literature that I am passionate about. I may want to incorporate these skills in the future by creating a website lesson plan for students and parents to keep track of assignments and announcements.  My Website I do not know much about AI. I do not use it in my day to day life. Seeing how AI is impacting the writing field as well as the film and education fields prevents me from using it. By relying on AI, it discourages students and adults do not use their imagination. By discouraging children to use their imagination, their brains will not fully develop and they expect every answer given to them. They may not learn how to be creative and provide their own ideas. I avoid ChatGPT at all cos

The school website I chose was the Meridian 223 School District. This is where I went to school growing up, so I felt like I could connect to this site more than any other. Many of the links on the home page consisted of local events like the spring musical. The website included information on student registration as well as a calendar of all events for students in the district for all age groups. Meridian 223 School District Website I envision myself using technology to send emails, project class assignments and send out newsletters. I would like to not include a lot of technology in my classroom for students because of the distraction that it poses. However, sending emails to my superior or colleagues is important to share how my classroom completes and responds to tasks. I would like to continue to use Canva because of the creative aspects as well as how professional the outcome of the products are.  I really enjoyed Assignment 1. It was very difficult trying to create a lesson plan

I am not the biggest fan of Diigo. I have had the most difficult time navigating the app. The icons and links are very hidden and the only way to operate the website is with tutorials made by other people that are not affiliated with Diigo. I do like that when you make the same post as someone else, it doesn't clog the feed with multiples of the same thing, but combines them into one. Blogging I feel pretty neutral about. It is a way to express my opinions, and some of the prompts are challenging and get me to think. It took a little bit for me to figure out how to use Blogger, but it is pretty straight forward. I have not learned anything new about blogging, since I try to keep my posts similar to professional emails to maintain a professional online persona. In school, I used Google and Microsoft Suites to complete assignments. I think it is useful to incorporate this in the class because teaching computer literacy and how to use writing and presentation apps is important. The sk

Using Instagram for a PLN has been very different than using it personally. I have interacted with a high school teacher and a first grade teacher. their teaching styles are very different as well as how they set up their pages. I have also looked at #teachertalks, and I have seen that it is relatively negative. It seems more like a page where teachers can complain about students and parents. I would not like to put any information like that out in public because of the repercussions from other faculty and parents if they find out what you are posting online. I feel like the digital divide will still be prevalent in the classroom years in the future as well. There is already a divide, and technology only grows so by the time when teachers, that have grown up with technology their whole lives, will not have the capabilities to keep up with the students. I believe that there will be a divide in my classroom, but I would like to keep the students away from electronic screens because that

Based on the ELA standards for a fourth grade class, students should be able to identify scientific diagrams as well as explain how these models apply to real-life situations. Students should be able to answer questions based on the information provided and should be able to create a model of the scientific situation and explain what the model does and does not include. I am prepared to implement this in my future classroom. Creating models and showing examples are good tools to help students learn as well as help grow their imagination. It helps create differentiation in the curriculum and gives them hands-on activities. I selected fourth grade to compare the two standards. I selected English-Language Arts. Students are expected to read and comprehend texts that are of their grade level. I believe that it is important to help students comprehend complex topics and words. To assist, I would help provide answers to their questions, and I would like to provide vocab lists to help with wo
